Preserving your life story is a deeply personal journey, and sometimes the perfect detail comes to mind only after you’re holding your beautiful memoir in your hands. Was it actually 1973 when you took that memorable road trip? Did you remember your childhood friend’s middle name after all? Was that beloved restaurant on Main Street, not Market Street?
No problem! These moments of clarity are natural parts of the storytelling process, and we’re here to help you make them right. That’s why we created our Oops! Policy—because every memoir deserves to be as accurate and authentic as the life it represents.
What’s covered under our Oops! Policy
As part of your memoir package, we include one round of post-publishing revisions at no additional charge. These revisions are perfect for those small but meaningful corrections that don’t require us to redesign your book’s layout. Think of them as the finishing touches that ensure your story is told exactly as you remember it.
Examples of covered revisions include:
- Correcting dates, names, or places
- Fixing minor factual errors
- Adjusting small details in your narrative
- Correcting typos we might have missed
- Blurring out unwanted personal details in an image
- Updating a dedication or acknowledgment
How it works
Simply gather all the corrections you’d like to make and send them to our team within 90 days of receiving your printed books. We’ll review your requested changes, make the corrections to your master file, and update your book for any future print runs. If you need replacement copies with the corrections, we can arrange those for you at our standard printing cost—we only charge for the actual printing and shipping, no additional fees.
When it’s a little more than just “oops!”
Sometimes, after seeing your story in print, you might realize you want to add a whole new chapter, significantly restructure a section, or include additional photographs. These larger revisions go beyond our complimentary Oops! Policy, as they require our design team to reflow text, adjust pagination, and potentially redesign portions of your book.
For these more substantial changes, we’re still here to help! Our team offers post-publication revision services at fair, transparent rates. Simply reach out for a quick consultation, and we’ll provide a custom quote based on the scope of your desired changes. Many families choose to create a “second edition” of their memoir when making significant updates—a wonderful way to mark new chapters in an ongoing story.

The Oops! Policy applies to all Heritage, Legacy, Heirloom, and Timeless Edition memoirs. Revisions must be submitted within 90 days of receiving your first order of printed books. Policy covers one round of minor revisions that don’t affect book layout or pagination. Additional revision services available upon request.
